Radiophonatron is a site on the BBC's website which lets you make your own Doctor Who theme track. Hours of fun! I found this via kpaul's excellent "Doctor Who Timeline" on kuro5hin.

I have to thank the Cool Shite On The Tube guys for talking recently about a show called "Robot Chicken". It's a stop animation show, developed by the wonderful actor Seth Green and his buddy Matt Senreich, that uses action figures. Really REALLY funny stuff. It's apparently on US TV but you can easily find many episodes via torrents.
God I hate Reality TV (except Jamie Oliver's new school dinner show which is fascinating!) and especially these "talent" shows. So it's great to see Triumph the Insult Dog taking one of the hosts of American Idol to the cleaners in this clip.
OK Ewan, you win. I just watched the second episode of Doctor Who "The End Of The World" and it was a lot of fun. I even shed a small tear towards the end. I'm sticking with it.
Ugh. Is it just me, or does this idea just reek of disaster? It still beats the hell out of me why the Americans feel the need to "re-make" a British comedy. Okay, if it was a sitcom out of Iraq or the MIddle East, I could perhaps understand. But c'mon. As the NYT article points out, they tried this with "AbFab" and "Men Behaving Badly" and failed miserably. When will they learn?
As much as I detest the current state of television programming, there are a few shining lights: Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, The Simpsons, etc.
Australian television has never had much to be proud of. Let's face it - our television sucks. But even we have had a few highlights: The Late Show (the D-Gen version), ummmm..... the early days of Gra-Gra and Bert. It's slim pickings.
Andrew Denton, though, has always provided us with some of the smartest television this small population has been able to muster. Here's a candid interview with him in The Age. I didn't realize until now he was the guy who discovered the CNNN team. They've also been a highlight in the last couple of years. I particularly liked this quote about his current show, Enough Rope:
"I've just taken out the comedy side of it," Denton says. "I reached a point where I wanted to do interviewing in its pure form. I wanted to strip away the bells and whistles, I didn't want any props, I just wanted to have a good conversation."
That's what I think podcasting can bring more of: good conversations.
I haven't seen the doco "OUTFOXED" yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. From the clips I've seen, Bill O'Reilly comes off as a very biased, nasty piece of work. Good to see the karma principle is still alive. The Smoking Gun has a transcript of a legal case which includes O'Reilly's approach to phone sex.

This site contains a clip from a kid's show, I think from Britian, in the late 70's or early 80's, called Rainbow. I remember it being on in Australia when I was a kid. No wonder I am so messed up! Take a look at the content they were feeding us back then (well actually it might be fake, but it is still hilarious... WARNING: content may offend viewers with sensitive ears)! And these days, people are outraged when Play School mentions lesbian parenting.
UPDATE: And, yes, it appears to be real, although it wasn't meant to be shown on TV. See here.
Thanks to my sister Nita for the link via email.
