Okay so my trip to the US is confirmed. I'm arriving in LA on Oct 22 to attend the Digital Hollywood conference and then heading down to San Fran on Oct 25 or 26. I'll be presenting at the ANZA TECH conference from Oct 30 - Nov 1 and then sticking around in SF until Thanksgiving. I'm doing the trip on an extreme budget so I'm looking for people to stay with while in SF. I'll be bringing a sleeping bag. Just need any old floor. And wifi. :-)
The Anza Tech conference is on in Sunnyvale, so something close to that would be handy.
Any takers? Please email me.
Also looking for advice on getting a mobile phone SIM card to use while I'm there. In the past I've bought a pre-paid T-Mobile card but they are BLOODY expensive. There has to be a better way. It's just for finding people when I'm out and lost.
Anyone who wants to catch up with me while I'm over there, just drop me a line. Especially if have lots of money to invest in a podcast network or you want to be part of the TPN US management team.
Don't you go up to San Fran from LA???

That really depends on whether you mean down as in altitude or north-south... And which way you define as up in the first place too.

yeah I don't conform to conventions of "north" and "south" just because someone says it is so! Up is what I say is up.

Darn. I'm going to be in Melbourne from the 27 October to the 5 November.
I was looking forward to meeting up with Cam, Molly and Beti.
Molly, Beti & I will just have to meet anyway. Guess we could start a book up on how much Cam 'puts on' while he is living the high (sugar) life in the US.
Americans love things sweet. American supplements are just about always sweeter than their Australian equivalent.
I'll post on thegnollstale.blogspot.com about this topic, given the event of the weekend;)

Ooh, Sunnyvale? Say Hi to Buffy for me, or actually, forget Buffy and say Hi to Willow for me. Mmmmm, Willow...

Oh, wait, Sunnyvale? I thought you said Sunnydale! Bugger!

Willow?! LOL. That says a lot about you Colin.

Wait what does it say about him???

What? Uber hot lesbian/bi highly intelligent submissive geek girl who looks even hotter in a leather corset? Says what about me? ;-)

Cmon Colin. Willow? Over Buffy? Now... if you said Willow on TOP of Buffy... then I'd be agreeing with you. I didn't know Willow was bi. I never really got past the first series though. I didn't get into Whedon until Firefly and havent had time to delve too far into his back catalogue yet.

Actually I agree with him. She's just so adorably enthusiastic about everything. But then, if you haven't seen beyond the first season that's understandable. The real omg moment for her is when evil Willow escapes from the parallel universe.
Also, not only was Willow bi, for the last three or so seasons she was going out with a girl.
Buffy is irritatingly perky but then the whole buffy/spike thing was kinda hot.
I've seen far too much buffy...

Willow never really came into her own early on. The series certainly improved as it went along, except season 6 which kinda went off the rails a bit. Evil Willow, a vampire escaped from a parallel universe, was totally hot!!
Then there was the musical episode...
BTW, I may happen to have a dedicated Willow DVD you could borrow for, um, educational purposes :-)
And what's with Whedon and babes? I saw Serenity. Willow on River? I'd pay to see that!
Oops, gotta go, miriam is calling out that Girls of the Playboy Mansion is on Fox. Sigh, I'm gonna miss Fox... a bit, but not as much as mim will!

Mmmmm.... Willow rocks. And Evil Willow makes me drool... sigh... Buffy seems like she'd be too high maintance (although Willow did try and destroy the whole world... but every girl has a bad day right?)
