Seeing as how my last cry for help about WordPress sorted out a two month old bug in minutes (thanks again Bruce), I thought I'd try my luck a second time.
We seem to be having problems with the new installs of Wordpress v2.01 where they are generating hundreds of files per minute within the root /tmp folder which are randomly named but look similiar to "tmpWURUUl, tmpWOL0b1, etc".
It seems the generation of these files are causing us database connection problems.
We have noticed that these files are similar to ones generated by wordpress into the "cache" folder when installing Wordpress in safe mode, but are not clear as to why they are suddenly generating these files into root/tmp or the connection between them.
Anyone know what is going on? You'll earn my undying gratitude. And you know when I say "undying" I mean it, because I end to live forever. And then some.
You need to get someone to do the Wordpress Podcast and then you can get them to help sort out the problem. That or join forces with Bruce as he seems to be very knowledgable about these matters.

Cam,
I was just reading Tinbasher blog, and he's just had some problems with Wordpress cache.
Check the last few paragraphs:

Dunno if that will help or not.

OK, apparently its a bug/feature. When wordpress 2 detects that php is running in safe mode, it dumps all that cache crap in the /tmp. I believe that turning off the cache resolves the problem, or conversely trying to get php out of safemode...which could be slightly more tricky...maybe bug your dude/s about checking that out...
