Trevor Cook can take the piss all he likes. Apparently he doesn’t approve of an ignoramus like me taking an interest in the political process. And maybe he’s right. Maybe running the country should be left to the lawyers and PR hacks? Maybe we should leave it to the guys who are in the pockets of Big Media, Big Money and the unions? Perhaps there is no reason for a new party to represent the interest of those who are unhappy with the current options.
Apparently, all it takes to set up a political party is 500 members, $500, a name and a constitution. But Trevor wouldn’t approve.

Hey Mate,
That guy's just a blow-hard...earlier he was pissing & moaning about Darren Rowse having a Pope John Paul blog. Apparently Trevor's not a big fan of that old Democratic pleasantry called "Freedom of Speech."
Keep up the good work, Cameron...us bleeding heart liberals have to stick together ; D

Thanks Cary, but I'm a fan of Trev's. He's one of the good guys. One of the key drivers of getting PR folks blogging over the last year. Can't expect him to get on board with all of my crazy ideas though.
Oh and btw, I wouldn't classify myself as a bleeding heart liberal! I'm about as laissez-faire as they come. I'm just tired of being lied to by a small group of rich, white, old guys and feeling like I have to just take it.

Hi Cameron,
That's one of the problems with comments, you can't always get across your sarcasm :) I am hardly a bleeding heart liberal myself. I am just endlessly frustrated by people who can't be bothered to form a real argument, so instead resort to dropping quick labels onto others as some kind of half-baked insult. From following your blog for the last few months I get the feeling you are a bit like me...just interested in the truth, wherever it falls in the political spectrum.
If Trevor was being sarcastic in his post then it wasn't particularly obvious to me, but I'm willing to entertain the idea that perhaps that stuff he said about Darren just tainted my vision (I don't personally see anything wrong with an ex-minister having a blog about the Pope, but that's just me.)
Anyways, have a lovely weekend!
Ciao,
-Cary
