PODCAST NETWORK SIGNS FIRST SPONSOR
The world’s first and largest commercial podcasting network today announced its first commercial sponsor.
LearnDog, a new Australian company working to help teenagers make better life choices, was specifically chosen as the first sponsor of The Podcast Network because of the importance of their mission.
Although the specific terms of the sponsorship are confidential, Mick Stanic, co-Founder of The Podcast Network which launched in February 2005, said, “We will be placing LearnDog’s audio advertisements in ten of our highest ranking shows over the next seven days, and we will also display their logo and links to their site in our show blogs.”
Mike Seyfang, Product Manager for LearnDog, said “We wanted to be TPN’s first sponsor because of the synergy between both companies and the emerging medium of podcasting. This disruptive technology has already spawned several interesting business models and can give millions of kids a new form of ‘voice’, something LearnDog plans to direct toward positive health outcomes.

Was there ever any thought to using the sponsors (i.e. in this case LearnDog) image in the shows MP3'S? I don't have a portable player, so I use Windows Media player and see that image all the time.
Just a thought.
