OK Ewan, you win. I just watched the second episode of Doctor Who "The End Of The World" and it was a lot of fun. I even shed a small tear towards the end. I'm sticking with it.

Its on already? Which channel is it on (or are you just back from the UK?)? I guess this means another 20mins on the Movie show next week!

I watched it last night, (on my Media Center of course) it was pretty good.
I miss the old 30 mins then a cliff hanger moment and I am not sure about one story per week rather than the old episode format.
I have watch a couple of the old shows last week "Death to the Daleks" great stuff

yeah I've been wondering about that as well Ian. I liked the old cliffhanger formula. And I still think I'd prefer it to be serious, but the humour worked better in this episode.

There are three "two-part" stories in the current season of 13. Episode 4 and 5 ("Aliens of London" and "World War Three"), episodes, episodes 9 and 10 ("The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances") and the season closer of ep 12 and 13 ("NOT YET ANNOUCNED" and "The Parting of the Ways").
Secondly, ABC Australlia has picked up the series (http://www.gallifreyone.com/newstv.php#newsitemEEEkZVuyVyVwlFNQBU) No dates yet, but there are rumours it'll get the Saturday night treatment as well.

Jeez, the Herald-Sun was ahead of the curve. Sydney's #1 paper only reported that today!
