An excerpt from Heather Green's article that came out today in Business Week:
For all the hullabaloo it's generating, podcasting is not even close to being a business yet. While startups such as Odeo and The Podcast Network are providing technological support and creating a podcasting network, right now Ibbott has barely enough ads to cover expenses, and most podcasters work for free
Yes, I had noticed that there were still no paid ads (well, apart from Franks sponsoring of Demo) on TPN. Cam, are you getting even a nibble? Perhaps you should try ebaying a shows ads for a week/Month or maybe sponsorship of the whole network for a week.

Do I work for free with my podcasts? Yes, and I even pay everything around it, like equipment, hosting etc.
Do I earn money directly with it? No.
So this is a loss, looking directly at it.
Indirectly? Yes of course.
Nearly every german podcaster has himself featured in radio or magazine articles over the last two months. Contacts have been established, Project of possible business are on the horizon and new offers will come through that. They are not there _yet_ but will be in the near future.
Doing business where you can say 'As seen in the magazines and TV' meaning _in_ the article and not in advertisement has value itself. Values not leading directly in cash now and by themselves, but as possible to be used for generating profit.
Wait, I lied. I did make about $1 in google adsense on one of the pages! ;)
