Here's another reason why podcasts are superior to radio - the one radio show I don't mind listening to is The Breakfast Show on JJJ. This morning was Adam & Wil's last show. I'm not near a radio (actually I don't even HAVE a radio outside of my car) so I'm trying to stream it. But oh no, we're sorry, the ABC is having technical difficulties with their streaming. Please try again later. And later. And later. This is what I pay my 8 cents a day for? I hope someone is recording the last show and will podcast it in the near future.
Update: about 20 minutes later, just as I was about to give up and listen to my iPod, the JJJ webcast kicked in. The new hosts are Jay and The Doctor? Who? Timelords hosting breakfast radio? The webcast is choppy though. Buffering every 20 seconds. Grrr. Good to see the boys letting go. This is their funniest and best show ever. A shame they couldn't have sounded so "we don't give a shit" for the last six years. If anyone tried to broadcast a show like this in the US, the FCC would be hitting their station with million dollar fines. Again, podcasting could break down those barriers. Congratulations Adam and Mel.
Jay and the Doctor are the singer and guitarist from Frenzal Rhomb. They've been doing a few shows for JJJ lately, in grooming.
Punk musos getting out of bed for a 6am start ? Heh, we'll see how that works out :)

hey Damian, thanks for the info. Musicians hosting radio - interesting. I can't remember the last time I heard a muso doing radio (except on PBS or RRR).

The only Oz Rock person entitled to claim the title of "The Doctor" is Phil Leonard, guitarist with The Fauves. I doubt however they'd give him a gig on triple j, I'd listen if they did though...

You can listen to the last show via stream (both .ram and .asx), as well as download some mp3 highlight clips, from the Breakfast Show page on the JJJ website.
