For many years, some of us have been closely watching the goings on with The Adams Platform. I've known many, many people who have been involved to one degree or another over the years with these people and whether or not it was a viable technology has always been in doubt.
According to the MWC website:
Adams Platform Technology enhanced video has been demonstrated consistently over recent years. In September 2003, testing carried out by The Tolly Group verified that Adams Platform Technology enables the real-time delivery of high quality video and audio content at bandwidth observed as low as 14.4Kbps. Current industry standard MPEG typically requires bandwidth of not less than 2 Mbps to achieve similar quality.
In The Age yesterday, under the heading "Media World admits technology fears", was this story:
Media World Communications, the company billed by believers as potentially bigger than Microsoft, said yesterday the technology on which it had based a stockmarket relisting might not work.
Gee, surprise, surprise.
Today's is even better: ASIC, meet Adam; Adam, ASIC.

yeah it's getting hot. I wouldn't like to be either Adam, Ramsden or Peter Graham right now. I think they all just lost a heap of friends...
