Reckless Life - an ipod comic

Check out this very cool web comic presented as an m4v - Reckless Life. Start with the episode "Locke and the Las Vegas Ninjas - Issue 1". I love the inking and the way it appears as a video file. Is this the future for web comics? We need a way for comics to get auto-synched to the iPod.

webdirections conference, sydney

I got an email today from the team running webdirections, a web development conference focussing on web standards, accessibility, web apps and web2.0 (whoops better call that web blah blah blah in case the O'Reilly team are reading this) being run in Sydney in September. Looks like Ben Barren is one of the speakers. If you've never seen BB irl, then that alone is worth the price of admission ($750), especially if his accompanying slide show resembles his flickr account.

On G'Day World today we talked a bit about this story and I was thinking: if the entertainment press were covering this, instead of the tech journos, would a Google - Dell relationship get called "GooDell" as in "Branjelina" or "BenJo"?

I know, I know - the devil planted this story about Krishna 3000 years before Jesus appeared just to trick us. That sneaky devil. He also is apparently responsible for the recent cancellation of Deadwood on HBO. Now THAT I believe.

Can you hear the noise?

I can't hear it, just some background noise, BUT, it does do something WEIRD to my ears. I can FEEL something is not right, but I can't actually HEAR the noise. I can't wait until the boys get home from acting class this morning so I can play it to them. Read about how kids are supposedly using it as a ringtone in Boing Boing.

Gmail spam out of control!

I woke up this morning to find hundreds of spam in my Gmail inbox. Anyone else getting hit like that? Did Gmail's spam filter servers go down last night?

What does it say about television

... when the shows everyone seems to be talking about at the moment are Iron Chef and the recently-concluded Eurovision Song Contest? How brilliant was the winning monter rock band Lordi from Finland! Looked to me like a cross between Kiss and a bunch of Living Dead  extras. Their website has some cool films clips under the "Extras" section. And their albums are available from Allofmp3!  Looks like the RHCP's new album is up there too today. There goes another $1.12.
