While big companies deliberate, small companies obliterate.

So said A VC on his blog recently. Great quote. But today he says Disney is coming out with something big.

Disney will announce today that they are making "much of its newest and most popular programming on ABC and other channels available free anytime on the Web", according to the Wall Street Journal which does not make much ot its newest and most popular stories available free anytime on the web so I can't link to the story.

Can't wait to see what this is all about. Free? That could start something big. What's the catch? Is this a shot at throwing it out there and figuring out the business model later? How much does this have to do with the recent entry of Jobs, S. into the list of Disney's top shareholders?

I heard Mike Geoghegan on a podcast from the podcast acadsamy gig saying he'd been consulting to Disney. :)

Yeah Dave, Mike's been producing podcasts for Disney for a while. He did their 50th anniversary last year.

Dave, that link is dead. Anyway, I'm waiting to see what they actually deliver. Let's face it - boring TV on the web is STILL boring TV.
