O2 XDA II hard resets for the 2nd time in a month!

Arrrgh. Sitting in a café with the family today, chatting away, and hear my XDA go "bing!". Open it up to see what's going on, to discover that the bloody thing has done a HARD RESET all by itself - for the second time this month!

All my data gone. Luckily, it is all backed up.

But WHY? WHY WHY WHY?

I've had the device since December, and it's never done this before. I'm wondering if it is a hardware or a software issue.

I know Frank had his XDA do the same thing recently. What's going on???

I've got an XDA II mini that did the hard reset thing on me a while ago. It's only done it once and it was when it was connected to my PC via USB It was during night and I wasn't using it at the time either. It hasn't done it since. I wrote a bit about the fallout from the incident in this blog entry.

I've no idea why it did it.

Have you tried contacting the manfacturer? My advice would be to search google if it's happened to anyone else...LOL

On a serious note it would piss me off, not that I have appointments, or contacts, or friends or phone numbers to store. It just show how important backing up data is though.

Hey Cam, have you looked at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ ?
I've got an XDA IIs and it used to crash really often until I consulted a post on the forum that recommended installing in corporate mode. Although I haven't had the exact problem you have had, corporate mode did make my XDA more stable and might even help prevent the problem occurring in the future

Thanks Paul. Yeah I'm familiar with the site, and I've been running their alt ROM builds, on this XDA and my previous one. I went looking there yesterday to see if they had a refresh of the ROM, but it doesn't look like it. I havent seen the post you're talking about though, so I'll check it out! Thanks.
